i like snakes (wow who could have guessed) so i am making a thread for sharing cool snake art
source
two headed characters are really uncommon and they're always super cool!! the colors are a little dull for my preference but they're super nice regardless, and the eye tattoos(?) are a cool touch.

in my experiemce it can be really hard to make overlapping parts with lineless art not merge together, but this one does it really well. i do wish they had put more detail on the face because it kind of looks out of place with the rest of the body, but it's not that big of a deal and it'a overall super pretty anyway. i do intend to get the sticker version when i can so i can put it on my laptop.

these guys are so unique looking! obviously i'm biased towards bipedal snakes, but i'm also a sucker for black and gold designs and these guys pull it off really well. i've seen snake characters with frills before but i especially like the way this one looks - based on the colors and spikes around the neck, it makes me think that maybe they can fold inward and are black and gold on the back. the head on the left one kind of reminds me of a skull but i think it's supposed to look more like a helmet. the one on the right is a lot simpler, but it looks very sleek and works very well. the horns remind me of a carnotaurus (which is one of my favorite dinosaurs) so that's some more bonus points.
i'm very tired and this probably isn't coherent but nothing can stop me from gushing about cool snakes
edit: oh weird looks like twitter images are not embedding. probably has to do with muskrat shitting all over it. artist didnt post it anywhere offsite so just go to the source link bc its so cool!!

these are by miranda zimmerman as part of their exhibition at the antler gallery called "slither!" i want one so badly, but sadly original paintings go for a lot of money and i do not have it :,) most of them are already sold anyway. if only capitalism did not exist
i like how the top one, microraptor, looks kind of like those scratch-off gradient canvases i'd mess with as a kid. i think that might actually be what it is, but i'm not sure because when i zoom in it looks like it's painted. i guess i'd have to see it in person to be sure, but either way it looks stunning! i'm a big fan of weird hybrid creatures, and i love the idea of putting a legless noodle creature and the only known animal with four wings together.
i love the way the scale pattern is done on cobra (bottom one). i always have trouble getting scale patterns to look right, so i'm always impressed when they're done this well lol. the back of the hood is especially cool because the scales kind of make it look like the marking is bleeding apart in the same way the snake's body is. i wonder what's making the snake start to fall apart, is it cut by the coral-like stuff around it? or maybe it's becoming the coral. who knows?
either way i'm not sure if these pieces are meant to have a deeper meaning, i just think they're visually very cool and of course snake related so they're going here lol

Oh I love the black cobra amongst the coral, the way its form starts to branch out mimicking the environment had me transfixed its so interesting to look at I've never seen something like that before, The gradient design is also lovely and the way its textured is giving a gummy like consistency. A very tasteful peice ty for sharing!
